So, I'm on my first P-day in the MTC so I figure I would drop a line. Miss, I really appreciate you doing this and I'll try and find a way to send some pictures home. I may just have to send a copy of the pictures in the mail and have you scan them on.
So, things are absolutely great here in the MTC. It's a lot of work but I know that I'm being extremely blessed for my efforts (maybe even more than I should be). We started our language study last Thursday and have already learned how to Testify, Pray, and Contact individuals in Spanish. It is so amazing how much you can learn when you allow the spirit to guide your thoughts. I can honestly say this is one of the hardest things I have done but it already has been an incredible experience.
Our day's are pretty long. Especially last week. They told us the first day we were here that the first week would be the hardest. The weeks here start on Monday so I'm technically in my second week. We have about 6-7 hours of class every day and about 5 hours of Personal/Companion/Language study. We do have 5 gym periods a week so that definitely helps release some stress! :)
I have one of the greatest companions. Elder Harker hails from the Great (and mostly empty) state of Wyoming and he definitely keeps me loose and relaxed. I've had a little bit of added responsibility since I've been here. Our Zone (Branch) Presidency called me to be the District Leader for my district so, I've had to be a little more organized with my time and efforts. But, the Elders are just great. The whole Zone is just awesome!! We've only been here for a few days but we've already become a pretty tight knit group.
Let's see, random stuff to mention. The food here is good but really heavy. I'm trying to be really careful with what and how much I eat. That and I've been trying to run 2-3 miles every other gym day to stay in shape. We went to the Provo Temple today so that was a great reliever. There is nothing like being in the temple to feel the spirit and feel the love our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us. I guess the only other thing I really have to mention is I have seen SOO many of my old friends here. I couldn't list all the ones I've seen. Even today I saw Elder Hayden Barton and Elder Justin Schoof, two great friends I met while at BYU. It is so awesome to see so many of my friends here, focusing on the work. It is a huge testament to the power and truthfulness of this work and the Power of the gospel.
But, I've got to finish laundry. I just want to leave you all with my testimony.
I hope to hear from you all soon! My Address is:
